Our Impact on Boone County

Annual Grant Program

For nearly two decades the BCFF has offered an annual grant program to support local initiatives. Those focused on preserving or elevating quality of life are given priority for funding.

Over nearly two decades, the BCFF has been able to provide leadership and funding, as well as serve as a connector to help our local organizations find the right resources to achieve their goals. Below is a small look at how we support the future of Boone County.

County-Wide Visioning Meetings

Through regular discussion with local leaders and citizens, the BCFF provides an outlet to hear about and offer leadership in community priorities. All of these sessions have led to key projects, including the Cardinal Kids Club, Boone Beginnings, and the Boone County Trails System.

Boone County Big Give

This giving week is an opportunity to showcase a number of local charitable organizations and current initiatives. By sharing resources and working together more than $2.3 million has been raised in just nine years to support local projects.

Boone County Trails System

Members of the BCFF committee led, helped with fundraising and planned events leading up to the creation and grand opening of the trails system. This 1.8-mile loop begins at Fuller Park, winds through the Boone County Fairgrounds to the south, passing the Albion water tower and along the community’s newest development.

Childcare

The Cardinal Kids Club, an after school program at Boone Central, currently serves 45 students. Thought leadership and funding has been provided by BCFF.

Boone Beginnings is designed to serve up to 80 children to address the childcare shortage and promote early childhood and family development for area families.

Estate-Planning Workshops

The BCFF provides educational opportunities for individuals and couples to learn and begin to plan for the future.

Emerging Leaders Academy

The BCFF partnered with the Boone County Development Agency and the Coffman Organization two years ago to launch the Emerging Leaders Academy. Graduates are tasked with creating a project to benefit the county and local organizations are encouraged to invite them to join their organizations in the hope of filling future leadership roles.

Sub-Accounts for Local Projects

Boone Beginnings, the Albion Family Aquatics Center, the Boone County Trails System, Petersburg Parks and others use the BCFF as a resource for charitable giving. This allows gifts to be tax deductible and it helps local projects lean on knowledgeable, dedicated professionals to help with organizing funds and moving projects forward.

Donor Hub

The BCFF often works with donors to determine which projects are most needed to be pursued and completed. This makes it easier for them to decide where and how to give, either one time or over several years.
